Buff Orpingtons
Developed in England. Well-known for calm and patient disposition, these birds are quiet and stand confinement well; however, they do forage successfully, in our experience. They are a dual purpose breed and are productive layers of large brown eggs. Buffs are a rich orange-gold color, resembling a new penny. They are broody and cold hardy. Orpingtons are listed as Recovering on The Livestock Conservancy priority list. Our birds are suitable for exhibition and are from the Clevenger/Coulter line. These birds are large and very fluffy--the way an Orpington should look. Definitely superior to what is available in hatcheries.
